OPPORTUNITIES FOR ADULTS

Get Involved!

First Christian Church offers a rich variety of activities and missions for adult faith-building and fellowship.

Please read below for some of these recurring opportunities. For one-time and special events, also be sure to check out our Events page to see what’s coming up.

Zoom Bible Study

Zoom Bible Study convenes on Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and is led by Pastor McElroy. All are welcome! Check the Latest Articles on the Home Page, contact the Church Office, [email protected] or call 704-334-3771 to get the schedule and Zoom meeting link.

Book Club

Like to read and discuss interesting books? The FCC Book Club meets every other month in-person as well as over Zoom. Here are the books and schedule in coming months: This Tender Land by William Kent Krueger (July 14); Til We Have Faces by C.S. Lewis (September 8); The Keeper of Lost Things by Ruth Hogan (November 10). Contact the Church Office to get the meeting location or Zoom link.

Choir

Adults are most welcome to join our Chancel Choir. There is no requirement that you must read music or have a background in choral singing. There is a requirement that you have a good sense of humor, however. This group likes to laugh together. Choir meets for practice at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday evenings in the Sanctuary.  From the East Boulevard parking lot, enter through the Church Office door.

AA

While not directly sponsored by our church, we’ve been grateful for the Alcoholics Anonymous groups that have transformed lives within our walls. Currently, the AA Mindful Meditation Group meets on Wednesday nights at 8:00 pm on the third floor of our Education Building.

Health and Wellness

Evermore Thai Boxing Club classes meet on the second floor of the Education Building on Monday thru Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings. Meet the instructor and find more information and the class schedule here: evermoremuaythai.com.
